These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Emergency Alert mobile application ("the App") provided by Eden Yefet ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
Emergency Alert is a group-based alerting application designed for on-call teams and emergency responders. It allows group members to send one-tap emergency alerts to all members of a group, track acknowledgments in real time, and maintain alert history.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.
3. Account & Authentication
- You may use the App anonymously or sign in with Google or a magic email link.
- Anonymous accounts have limited functionality (cannot create groups or generate invite links).
- You may link a Google account or email to your anonymous account at any time to unlock full features.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account.
- You may delete your account at any time using the "Delete Account" option in the App.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App to send false, fraudulent, or malicious emergency alerts.
- Spam, harass, or abuse other group members using the alerting functionality.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its backend services.
- Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to interact with the App.
- Circumvent rate limits or abuse protection mechanisms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to other users or the service.
5. Groups & Alerts
- Groups are created and joined voluntarily. Joining via a join code requires admin approval. Joining via an invite link grants immediate membership.
- Alert notifications are designed to be loud and attention-grabbing, including vibration, alarm sounds, and the ability to override Do Not Disturb mode. By using the App, you consent to receiving such notifications from groups you have joined.
- You may mute notifications for any group at any time.
- Group administrators may remove members from a group.
- Group administrators may approve or reject join requests.
- Group administrators may generate or revoke invite links.
6. User Content
You are responsible for the content you create in the App, including your nickname and group names. You agree not to use offensive, misleading, or inappropriate names. We do not monitor user content but reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The App will be available at all times or function without interruption or errors.
- Alert notifications will be delivered instantly or at all — delivery depends on network conditions, device settings, and third-party services (Google Firebase, mobile carriers).
- The App is suitable as the sole means of emergency communication for life-threatening situations.
The App is a supplementary alerting tool and should not be relied upon as the only method of emergency communication. Always have backup communication channels in place.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to missed or delayed alert notifications, data loss, or service interruptions.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eden Yefet from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
11. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, you will be prompted to review and accept the updated Terms within the App before continuing to use it. The updated Terms will also be posted on this page with a new effective date.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, without prior notice.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before seeking formal legal remedies.
